For Homeowners
Lower Bills. More Comfort. Better Home.
A retrofit is the upgrade that keeps paying — and our team makes it simple, clean and genuinely low-disruption.
What Retrofit Insulation Does for You
Reduce Energy Bills
Properly insulated homes use significantly less energy for heating and cooling. Most homeowners see meaningful reductions in monthly utility costs.
Eliminate Drafts & Cold Spots
Drafty rooms and uneven temperatures are symptoms of insulation gaps. A retrofit seals those gaps and creates consistent comfort throughout your home.
Protect Against Utah Winters
Utah's cold winters demand a well-insulated building envelope. Proper insulation keeps heat in and cold out — reducing strain on your furnace and preventing frozen pipes.
Improve Indoor Air Quality
Air sealing as part of a retrofit reduces infiltration of dust, allergens, and outdoor pollutants — creating a healthier indoor environment.
Increase Home Value
Energy-efficient homes command higher resale prices. A documented insulation retrofit is a selling point that buyers and appraisers recognize.
Return on Investment
Most retrofit projects pay for themselves through energy savings — then continue saving money for the life of the home.
A Home Treated With Care
Dust containment, floor protection, shoe covers, daily tidy-downs and a dedicated cleanup crew — not installers sweeping up at the end of a long day. White glove and concierge options extend that to a full ceiling-to-floor clean, hotel stay, or pet boarding while we work.
How It Works — One Coordinated Team, Four Stages
Free Home Assessment
We visit your home, inspect your current insulation levels, identify air leaks, and assess where you're losing the most energy. No cost, no obligation.
Custom Recommendation
Based on your home's construction, age, and your budget, we recommend the most cost-effective insulation solution — with clear pricing and projected savings.
Professional Installation
Our Utah-licensed crew installs efficiently and cleanly, with containment up before work starts. Most residential retrofits finish in 1–2 days, and our cleanup team follows behind the installers so the house is returned in better shape than we found it.
Verified Results
We verify the install meets or exceeds Utah energy code, walk the finished work with you before we invoice, and provide documentation for your records, rebate applications and future home sales. Drywall repair and paint touch-ups are handled through our trusted trade partners where wall access was needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Honest Answers to the Questions We Hear Most
We'd rather answer these up front than have you wonder.
"I've heard insulation payback takes 15–20 years."
That number usually comes from attic-only work on a house that already has some insulation. When you add wall insulation to a pre-1980 Utah home with empty cavities, the payback drops to 9–11 years — and that's using conservative energy price assumptions. We'll show you the math for your specific house before you decide anything.
"My house is older — won't insulation cause moisture problems?"
The honest answer: it depends on the assembly. Brick homes, homes with vapor barriers in the wrong place, and homes with existing moisture issues all need a different approach than a standard 1970s frame house. We assess the assembly first. If there's a moisture risk, we tell you — and we adjust the scope or decline the job.
"I got a quote that was half your price."
We hear this regularly. The most common explanation: the other quote is attic-only, and ours includes walls and rim joist. The second most common: different R-value targets. Ask for the scope in writing — what's being removed, what's being installed, to what R-value, and what air sealing is included. If the scopes are identical and we're still more expensive, we'll tell you to take the other quote.
"I'm planning to sell in a few years — is it worth it?"
Probably yes, but the math is different. You won't capture the full energy savings over time, but a documented retrofit with a written report and photo record is a real selling point. Realtors consistently report that energy efficiency helps listings, and buyers increasingly ask for it.
Your Home, Handled
Most contractors sell you a product. We manage the whole outcome. Daniel is your single point of contact, like a concierge for your home's envelope. He walks your home, measures where you're losing heat, explains every code requirement and every upgrade option in plain language, and recommends what your home actually needs, not what's on the truck.
- A written heat-loss report that's yours to keep, whether you hire us or not
- Code options explained side by side: what's required, what's recommended, and what each upgrade does for your comfort and resale value
- Dust containment, with dedicated cleanup by Hansen crews or trusted cleaning partners, depending on the scope of your project
- Drywall, paint, electrical and handyman work scheduled and managed through our trusted trade partners, so you never coordinate other trades
- Utility rebate paperwork filed for you
- A photo record of the work, useful for your own files and when you sell
Quiet, Protected, Comfortable
Quiet where you rest. Mineral wool in bedroom, bathroom, laundry and mechanical-room walls keeps household noise where it starts.
Private in a finished basement. Insulating the ceiling between the basement and main floor keeps a basement apartment, rental or teen space quiet from the rest of the house.
Warm air where you want it. Insulated ducts deliver more of the heating and cooling you pay for to the rooms you actually use.
