Commercial New Construction Insulation in Utah

Hansen / All Seasons Insulation installs thermal insulation, spray foam, firestopping, sound control and mechanical insulation on commercial and multifamily projects across Utah. We work to your stamped drawings and energy compliance documents under Utah's 2026 code, the 2024 IECC. General contractors get one bid and one contact. Architects get an installer who knows every material.

What does Utah's 2026 energy code mean for commercial insulation?

Utah's H.B. 65 (2026 General Session) updated the State Construction Code to the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code. It took effect July 1, 2026. The 2024 IECC commercial provisions reference ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2022 as a compliance path.

Two parts of ASHRAE 90.1-2022 matter most to the insulation trade:

Thermal bridging: New requirements address heat lost through conductive elements such as steel framing and slab edges.
Air leakage: Expanded criteria for whole-building air leakage testing.

The U.S. Department of Energy's analysis estimated that 90.1-2022 reduces site energy use by about 11.1% and energy cost by about 10.1% in Climate Zone 5A compared with the 2019 edition (cited by NEEP, July 2026). Utah's valleys are Climate Zone 5B and Summit County is Zone 6, so treat those numbers as directional.

Commercial envelope values vary by construction type and compliance path. Hansen installs to the values on your approved drawings and COMcheck or energy model.

What do architects get from Hansen?

  • An installer who knows every material, so value-engineering options compare spray foam, mineral wool, fiberglass, cellulose and board on equal terms
  • Early input on assemblies, thermal bridging and air-barrier continuity under 90.1-2022
  • Continuing education: Daniel Ray is an approved AIA continuing-education presenter for multiple spray foam and insulation product brands. Ask about a presentation for your firm.

What do general contractors get from Hansen?

  • One bid covering envelope, firestopping, sound and mechanical insulation
  • In-house crews trained to OSHA safety standards
  • Capacity from Hansen's QXO-affiliated companies across Utah
  • Single-source invoicing for materials and installation as a TruTeam company
  • One point of contact from bid to closeout: Daniel Ray, with 11 years in construction, trades and project management

What building types do we insulate?

Offices and flex space, warehouses and distribution, retail, restaurants, churches, schools, medical offices, hotels, and multifamily and mixed-use buildings.

Are there rebates for new commercial construction?

Possibly. Enbridge Gas's ThermWise Business program includes first-time installations of qualifying measures for commercial GS customers. Rocky Mountain Power's Wattsmart Business program offers Whole Building new construction incentives. Most new construction programs need enrollment early in design, so ask before drawings are final. We confirm current terms before we bid.
