How we calculated this

Rebates use the published 2026 rates for Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart and Enbridge Gas ThermWise, as of September 2026. Wattsmart requires electric heat or central air serving at least 80% of the home, and excludes homes under 10 years old and manufactured homes. ThermWise excludes homes built in 2023 or later and requires an authorized contractor, which Hansen is. Both assume attic insulation is brought to R-49 or more.

Savings use a conservative range of 7% to 11% of your total energy bills. The EPA's ENERGY STAR estimate is an average of 11% of total energy costs from air sealing and insulating. Homes that already have deep attic insulation save less, and we lower the range for them.

The federal energy-efficiency tax credit (25C) ended for work completed after December 31, 2025, so it isn't included. Income-qualified households may get free upgrades through Utah's Weatherization Assistance Program.
